Our ideal team member will be a personable individual who works independently with strong professional engineering and project management skills. From concept to completion you will be responsible for soliciting consulting engineering services, RFQ’s, prepare engineering contracts and coordinate projects with other city departments and outside agencies. You will work collaboratively with the team to review construction plans, site plans, subdivision plats and legal descriptions to ensure compliance with local design standards and/or state and federal codes and civil engineering standards. As the Capital Projects Engineer, you will manage and execute the City stormwater management plan to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. To be successful in this position you must have the ability to read and interpret site plans, building plans, specifications, calculations and codes. A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required. At least three years’ experience in project development, project plan review and/or construction management of Public Works projects preferred. Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, or be able to become registered within one year of hire date preferred.
