Eligibility
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Competition is limited to first 95 entries on a first-come, first-served basis
- Seatbelt and all safety features on equipment must be used by participant
- A score sheet will be used by judges at time of operation to determine score
- The lowest score wins. In case of a tie, the best operating time, without going under the minimum allowed for that event, will win
- All obstacles on course layout are subject to points given
- Points will be given for excessive operating time or for time less than minimum set
- Unnecessary abuse of the equipment will be subject to disqualification
- Judgement calls will be made by the governing body of the rodeo committee
Registration
- Registration will be held between 7:30 and 8:30 AM for each daily scheduled event
- Each driver must be registered prior to the beginning of competition
- Competition "running" order determined by random draw conducted at 8:30.
- A course walk around will be conducted in conjunction with the random draw
- Competition will start at 9:00 AM
- Competing snow fighting vehicle will be measured for compliance with the minimum specification
- If a vehicle is disqualified that agency has the opportunity to participate with a borrowed vehicle from another governmental agency whose vehicle meets the minimum specifications.
Equipment
- Specifications for both of these events are:
- truck maximum gross weight of 26,002
- plow width as measured at the bottom of the moldboard
- Must be a Conventional Cab dump truck with a minimum cab to axle length of 84"
- truck will be equipped with functional material spreader and/or equipped with an integral dump/spreader bed.
- material is not required to be in the spreader, but is permitted.
- Protruding knobs attached to the steering wheel are not permitted.
- Salt/sand spreader must be mounted and secured and operational.
- Manufactured plows from a known manufacturer can be used. (Meyers, Western, Henke, Flink, Viking, Etc.) No modifications can be made to plow or plow frame.
- Plows will not have top corners cut off.
- Plows will not have extension welded on, whether in the middle of the plow or on the ends to make up the 10' 11' required. This is a modification.
- No power V plows or center hinged plows allowed.
- Height of plow blade touching ground to top of plow measured a straight line shall be a minimum of 30".
- Width of plow measured at moldboard from one end to the other shall measure between 10' and 11' for a 10' plow and between 11' and 11' 11" for an 11' plow. Curb finders are not allowed.
- Plows must have a cutting edge in place at time of event (rubber, metal, carbide, etc.)
- CDL must be shown to course starter and be valid to operate a vehicle in the plow event.
- Every truck will be measured.
- Flow-n-dump, front dump or side dump is alllowed.
- Spreaders must have appropriate flow gate, chute (if required), and spinner attached to vehicle in its appropriate location. Any spinner which folds or moves under body must be locked into appropriate salting position.
- Spreaders should be those used in day to day salting operations.
Final 12 run-off
Rodeo Staff will choose two like trucks (either 10' or 11') from previous events. All finalists will be required to use one of these designated vehicles in the run-off.
