What We Are Looking For:
An experienced and outgoing engineer that is capable of working independently, but enjoys collaborating with team members.
An individual that understands and can independently perform infrastructure design, but prefers to be engaged in peer reviews of private development designs.
A seasoned engineer that has a background in street, stormwater, water line and sanitary sewer design.  All four (4) specialties would be preferred, but are not necessarily required for the position.  
A disciplined and organized individual that doesn’t mind an ever-changing backlog of private development applications and associated engineering plans and understands the importance of meeting project due dates.
A self-motivated individual that is willing, through team collaboration, to take the lead on a “special project” and / or current process evaluation in order to improve the overall abilities and capabilities of our engineering group.
Graduation from an ABET accredited four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering, or closely related field
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri. If licensed in another state, must become licensed in the State of Missouri within 6 months of hire
Five (5) years’ experience in the field of engineering.
Valid driver’s license required; must maintain an insurable driving record.

Key Job Duties:
Demonstrate thorough working knowledge of local construction specifications and design standards.
Research and prepare recommendations for resolution of significant issues that arise during projects.
Review planning and engineering studies; and provide comments to consultants or applicants.
Review project reports, plans and specifications; and provide comments to consultants or applicant.
Periodic site visits either during the preliminary design and / or during the construction phase.
Interpret and provide guidance regarding City regulations, engineering criteria, etc. in reviewing plans.
Coordinate with field engineering inspectors on infrastructure construction projects and approve field revisions.
Coordinate the review of and propose modifications to the City’s Design and Construction Manual, Unified Development Ordinance and various other engineering standards and policies.
Orally communicate with private sector engineers, contractors, developers, the public, City staff, and elected officials.
